Thank YOU for the movie, it’s an indie gem and I’m glad I didn’t let the imdb rating put me off it. It really deserves much more word-of-mouth than it’s getting, I hope it will eventually rack up all the praise it should, competish prizes included, and that you get to write and direct more of these truly human stories

Joni, am o curiozitate: baremul tau de notare e de la 0 stele la 100? Pentru ca altfel nu vad de ce ai da 9 stele unui film atat de prost. E adevarat ca nu mi-as fi dorit sa vad niciodata Twilight, dar na, s-a intamplat, e timpul meu pierdut…Oricum, mi se pare ca situatia asta cu baietasul asta care joaca rolul lui Dali e ca si cand Hannah Montana ar juca-o pe Virginia Wolf in “Valurile”…
Povestea e de un potential coplesitor, terfelit insa de scenarist, regizor si actori. Mai mult, mi se pare o insulta la arta celor 3.
Te rog, nu mi-o lua in nume de rau, simt si eu nevoia din cand in cand sa arunc cu acid…

Eu am fost impresionata de modalitatea de construire a relatiei celor doi care nu merge in extrema de a aplica sintagma “no limits” la sexualitaea celor doi doar de dragul ei. Cei doi se regasesc unul in geniul celuilalt si asta pare sa explice atractia, desi “nepotrivita” pentru momentul acela. Nu pot sa vorbesc despre acuratetea celor “povestite” insa aplaud frumusetea imaginilor create si jocul actoricesc pe masura. Personal, cred ca filmul nu se bucura de reputatia meritata.

I completely agree, with the album dissing, wouldn’t be so presumptuous as to agree with the blog praising:P And yeah, the surgery was a success – if you can call a total failure successful all the same. As in, I’m fine, but not any better off than I was before.

lovely post (because your writing is lovely), but the album is weak, WEAK, I tell you. my theory is they were so focused on recreating the sound of their first two albums that they forgot to do some actual songwriting. and they were my first ‘big’ concert, too, and I have tickets for this year, too. but i just cannot bring myself to recreate the excitement.

hope the surgery turned out okay, though.

I must say, Torchwood is different si ma bucur ca s-a nascut. Russel e genial; imi place ca incearca sa aduca in mainstream ideea ca “it’s okay to be gay”. Sau mai exact ca exista si oameni de alta orientare sexuala decat ’straight’ (si, la TV, orientarea este de la un mascul hot la o domnisoara neaparat atragatoare). Imi place diversitatea adusa de el pe TV, si nu doar sexually-speaking, ci si ca gen.
Take Torchwood, for example: it’s part sci-fi, part soap, part comedy. Un urmas up-to-date al lui Dr Who (alt serial genial; daca nu-l stii, you should give it a chance. If I’m not mistaken, Russel used to produce a few of the recent series).
Asa ca ridic un pahar in cinstea lui Russel T Davies, the man with the balls to show us for how diverse we really are.

Ce mi se pare usor criticabil este perceptia as spuene clasica a opizitiilor si asociatiei adoclescenta/frumos vs. maturitatwe/urat. E adevarat ca majoritatea artier face aceasta asociere, dar cred ca este momentul ca ea trebuie atacata. Mai tin minte fraza de inceput din romanul “Un om sfarsit” de Giovanni Papini care incepe spunand “Eu n-am avut copilarie”, continuand apoi sa exprime absenta fericirii si puritatii asociate copilariei la propria persoana. Era primul si singurul loc in care am reusit sa gasesc demontarea acestui mit.
De este neaparat adevarat ca copilaria trebuie sa fie pura si inocenta? Este neaparat civilizatia carte corupe sau dimpotriva, toti sunt niste mici Jack din Lord of the Flies? Rousseau din pacate e o himera.

Nice one about Hugh Dancy. Nu m-am prins knd am vazut filmul. De-abia acum avansez in camarutele memoriei si caut in sertarul aflat sub numele de EVENING.Dupa aceea urmeaza analizarea atenta a limbajului trupului, a vorbelor si a actiunilor lui Hugh Dancy.Si la sfarsit:verdictul!
Claire Danes joaca bine.Dar e mai potrivita intr-o lume unde figura ei, care pare sa fie fixata doar pe o experesie, ar reusi sa se debaraseze de rutina si sa se integreze in personaj…De fiecare data alt personaj.

heath (de la heathcliff, din wuthering heights) e un actor australian, care-a spart gura targului in hollywood cu rolul din Brokeback Mountain, shi a fost nominalizat la oscar in consecintza. la capitoul “stiatzi ca…” gaseshti articole peste tot, miriapodice cu date biografice shi filmografie; iar din ciclul “ce a insemnat el”…trebuie sa-i vezi filmele, shi sa decizi singurica, chestiile astea sunt mai de interior, fiecare cu propria lui/ei cutie de rezonantza.

Am citit cu multa speranta paragraful precedent discutiei despre Oscar. Am descoperit zambitor si 3-4 stari inteligibile ( desi sunt sanse sa le fi inteles pentru ca stiam de unde vii si cum a fost ).

Am vazut azi “Awake”. Un film demential. Atat de bine facut incat unul dintre membrii grupului nostru a cazut intr-o stare similara la cateva secunde dupa terminarea filmului. Constient, dar incapabil sa-si controleze corpul. 2 ore, 2 spitale si 5 ingrijorati mai tarziu, totul e ok. Dar coincidenta.. remarcabila
